Cool cups!

How cool are those Scandinavians?  There's something about their design that's so distinctive...  I've started collecting pieces and this Norwegian tea set, circa 1960's, is one of my favourites.  I always wheel it out when friends come round for a cuppa and cake.

What no cups?!

I can't help myself when I spot a lonely saucer in a charity shop - I have to purchase... but what is a girl to do with all these random, but totally gorgeous saucers? Plant pot holders, costers... it just seems such a waste as you're hiding the beauty of the darn thing. I'm thinking of turning mine into some sort of clock...Watch this space!

Down with the Cafetiere

So I was sipping my coffee this morning and the burning question that popped into my mind was why don't we use proper coffee pots any more?  What's with all this Cafetiere business?  I've seen so many beautiful coffee pots at boots sales and Charity shops looking all sad sat on the shelf that I think that we should create a revival - ditch the shiny coffee maker for a more classier affair.
This is my current fave... it used to be my nanny's - circa 1950  but coffee still tastes good out of it!

Another glass darling?

Is there a more stylist coaster to place your wine glass upon?  I'm currently in love with this late 1960's coaster set... surely an excuse to pour yourself another glass?

Welcome!

Welcome to More Tea Vicar? Vintage Kitchenalia... Dedicated to those who love vintage but maybe don't get time to indulge their passion as much as they'd like to...
My particular love is vintage kitchen bits and bobs so the way I get to enjoy my wares is to sit back, have a cuppa made in my gorgeous 1960's teapot, sip it from a fine 1940's cup and saucer and indulge in a pink wafer biscuit from my 1950's biscuit tin - about perfect don't you think?!
